Akronim: HTTP Proxy
HTTP Proxy
A proxy that serves up web pages from an external network (such as the
internet). An HTTP Proxy provides a gateway between a
LAN and a WAN (such as
the internet), allowing clients on the LAN to make HTTP requests for pages
from the WAN. The Proxy receives these requests and makes the corresponding
request from the WAN, returning the result. An HTTP Proxy will typically
also provide some caching to improve the
apparent speed of the connect, this can be useful if an office shares a slow
internet connection.
