OGC
Open Geospatial Consortium. OGC is a non-profit organisation working in
the broad fields of GIS, dedicated to the
creation of standards in the field of Interoperable geospatial systems.
OGC's mission statement (2004) is: "To lead the global
development, promotion and harmonization of open standards and
architectures that enable the integration of geospatial data and
services into user applications and advance the formation of related
market opportunities."
